Tamil actor Arya has landed in legal trouble after a cheating case was registered against him at the Jubilee Hills Police Station in Hyderabad. The complaint, filed by a camera equipment rental company, alleges that the makers of Arya’s upcoming film Ananthan Kaadu failed to clear dues amounting to ₹1.80 crore for cameras, lighting units and other production equipment hired for the film’s shoot.

Equipment Rental Dispute Leads to FIR

According to the complaint filed by Javed Ali, an accountant representing Taher Cine Tek, the Hyderabad-based equipment company entered into an agreement with the film’s production team on February 25, 2025. The company supplied expensive filming equipment and extended technical support throughout the production. While a significant portion of the payment was reportedly made, the remaining ₹1.80 crore allegedly remains unpaid despite repeated reminders.

The firm claims the producers had acknowledged the outstanding amount and assured that the dues would be cleared before the film’s release, but the payment was never made. The complaint also alleges that the company’s manager was threatened when he approached the film’s team to recover the pending amount.

Police Investigation Underway

Based on these allegations, the Jubilee Hills Police have registered a case against Arya, producer Vinod and other members of the production team. The matter is currently under investigation, and neither Arya nor the filmmakers have issued a public response to the allegations.
