AP Government to Introduce New Policy on Movie Ticket Price Hikes

Andhra Pradesh Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh has made important remarks regarding the movie ticket price hikes in the state. He announced that the AP government will soon introduce a new policy to regulate ticket price hikes.

At present, ticket prices are being raised based on the budget of each film. However, Minister Kandula Durgesh stated that the government is now considering a uniform category-based system, where ticket prices will be increased equally according to predefined categories rather than individual film budgets.

The minister clarified that it will take any decision on ticket price hikes in a way that benefits the film industry while ensuring that common audiences are not burdened. He said a committee is currently discussing ticket pricing for high-budget films, and they will collect opinions from film producers, distributors, and exhibitors before finalizing any resolution.

Kandula Durgesh assured that whatever policy is introduced, it will be designed to avoid inconvenience to both the film industry and the public.

Meanwhile, several big films will release during the Sankranti season. Movies starring major stars like Prabhas, Chiranjeevi, and Ravi Teja are gearing up for release. This has raised curiosity about whether the new ticket pricing policy will be implemented by then or if the existing system will continue.

On the other hand, the Telangana government has already made its stand clear on movie ticket prices. Telangana Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy recently stated that there will be no ticket price hikes in the coming days. He firmly said that there is no question of raising ticket rates in the future..

Now, it remains to be seen whether the Telangana government will follow Andhra Pradesh’s path and work towards a permanent and balanced solution to the ongoing movie ticket pricing issue, benefiting both the industry and moviegoers.
