Actress Anupama Parameswaran has opened up about a deeply personal chapter of her life in a recent interview on the talk show I AM with Dhanya Varma_. The young actress revealed that she endured a toxic relationship for two years, describing patterns of narcissistic abuse that left her living in fear.
The Narcissistic Abuse Pattern
During the conversation with host Dhanya Varma, Anupama used powerful movie references to illustrate her ex-boyfriend’s unpredictable behavior. She explained that one day he would be loving and caring like the character Remo, the next day brutal like Anniyan, and then apologetic like Ambi, only for the cycle to repeat. “I lived in fear for the last two years,” the actress revealed, describing the emotional turmoil of the relationship.
Engagement Called Off After Realizing the Truth
Anupama disclosed that discussions about marriage began within just three months of the relationship starting, and she eventually got engaged. However, she called off the engagement after a painful realization. “What I was experiencing was not love but desperation,” she admitted. The actress also revealed that her ex-partner wouldn’t let her attend movie promotions and even wanted her to quit acting altogether.
Why She Didn’t Promote Dragon
The interview also shed light on why Anupama didn’t participate in promotions for the movie Dragon. Though she did not name anyone during the interview, media outlets and netizens have been speculating about her rumored relationship with young Tamil actor Dhruv Vikram, who co-starred with her in the film.
Anupama, who has stood strong against criticism in the past, is now focused on healing and moving forward with her career. She was last seen in Mareechika, which is currently streaming on Prime Video, and the teaser of her upcoming film, Crazy Kalyanam, was recently released.
