Andhra King Taluka, the latest film of Ram Pothineni, did not have a good opening at the box office in India due to its genre and Thursday release. But as the film received positive reviews, everyone expected it to show a jump on day 2, but shockingly, day 2 saw a slight drop from day 1.
In Telugu states, the film just opened with 4 Cr gross, while overseas was good. Overall, Andhra King Taluka’s worldwide opening day gross was just above 7 Cr. As the movie is carrying positive WOM, it was expected to get more numbers today, and the makers also expected the same.
But surprisingly, the film did not see a jump on day 2, and it even dropped slightly from day 1, which is definitely not good for the movie. However, the good sign is that the second show received strong occupancies. The film definitely needs to collect much more than the day 1 numbers tomorrow, and day 4 has to be the biggest day for the AKT to score a good weekend.
The film needs to collect 50 Cr gross worldwide to break even, and the first weekend should aim for at least 35 Cr, as Akhanda 2 is releasing the following weekend, making it difficult to achieve significant numbers in the second weekend.
