Allu Arjun’s Pushpa was released amidst great fanfare and celebrations today. The action entertainer directed by Sukumar has been under a lot of scrutinies and rushed to release in the last moment. With some pending works on the film still in balance towards the end, there were shadows of doubt cast over the USA premieres. Sukumar and team however managed to get the release on time on 17th December.
The film collected a total of $530 k from 260 locations. This is a good show of numbers despite the cancellation across multiple locations. Allu Arjun’s Pushpa premieres now stand as his second-best premiere after Ala Vaikunthapurramulo. The 2020 Trivikram directorial collected a solid $ 816 K from the US premieres. Similarly, Pushpa is also Sukumar’s 2nd best show in this department. His earlier best was Rangasthalam which collected $725 K.
Pushpa: The Rise needs to collect $2.6 million for breakeven and the opening has been positive. It needs to be seen if the film despite its mixed reviews manages to march on towards the breakeven figure. Allu Arjun’s performance has been heavily appreciated by the critics and audience and stood as the highlight of the film.
