Shehzada the official remake of Telugu blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo was released on the last weekend and the film just collected close to 20 Crores net in its opening weekend which is a disastrous number. Bollywood Trade Circles expected the film to score big because the hero of the film Karthik Aryan’s previous film Bhool Bhulaiya 2 was a super-duper hit.
With the failure of this film, the terrible phase of Tollywood producers in Hindi cinema continues as the remakes of Jersey, HIT The First Case which were also produced by Telugu producers failed to get the success at the Bollywood box office.
From the moment its trailer released Shehzada gave it a feel that the film didn’t have the right impact which AVP had and after the release it failed to impress the public who have already seen the original and Bollywood audience who haven’t watched Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo too did not like the film.
The makers of Shehzada did many unnecessary changes in the script, which didn’t work whatsoever for the film. AVP was well-known for the songs, Allu Arjun’s style and fights along with Trivikram’s simple yet powerful dialogues. However, none of these were present in the remake as many entertaining moments from the original were removed, which made Shehzada a lifeless movie.
Shehzada marks the return of Kartik Aaryan to the big screen after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, directed by Anees Bazmee, which emerged as a blockbuster. The film stars Kriti Sanon along with Manisha Koirala, Ronit Roy Sachin Khedekar and Ankur Rathee in other important roles. The film is directed by Rohit Dhawan and co-produced by T-Series Films, Haarika & Hassine Creations, Geetha Arts and Brat Films. The film has its music composed by Pritam.
