Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 finally clears the censor formalities

Akshay Kumar’s ‘Oh My God 2’ is among the most anticipated films of the year. The movie directed by Amit Rai is set to be released on August 11. The film features Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi. One of the main stakes surrounding ‘OMG 2’ revolved around the representation of Akshay Kumar by Lord Shiva in the film. The film is made in religious backdrop, which is why the censorship of it went through a bit of difficulties.

Although the film made headlines because of the censor issues, it has been finally confirmed that “OMG 2” has received an “A – Adults Only” certificate from the Censor Board. It is interesting to note that this is Akshay Kumar’s first film in 12 years to get an adult-only certificate. The last time an Akshay Kumar-starrer was granted an “A” certificate was Desi Boyz in 2011. Now his upcoming movie, ‘Oh My God 2’, has also been given an ‘A’ certificate. The runtime of the film is 2 hours and 36 minutes.

The film is said to have no visual cuts, according to sources, and only audio (dialogues) is where the cuts are made. The film focuses on the sensitive topic of sex education and involves Lord Shiva, so it had to face hardships in the Censor Process. The CBFC has confirmed that the makers have accepted the new 27 cuts and the film will be released on August 11 as per the plans.

The film, directed by Amit Rai, has Akshay Kumar in the avatar of Lord Shiva. Yami Gautam, Pankaj Tripathi, and Arun Govil who is famous for playing Lord Ram in the old Ramayan serial, will also appear in ‘OMG 2’. It will be released in theaters on August 11.

The satirical comedy-drama is a sequel to the 2012 hit film ‘OMG – Oh My God!’ The film is produced by Cape of Good Films, Ashwin Varde, Vipul D Shah and Rajesh Bahl. Dr. Chandraprakash Diwedi is the creative producer of the movie. The cinematography of the movie is done by Amalendu Chaudhary.
