Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 film is getting excellent response on its OTT release. Upon its theatrical release, due to Gadar 2 storm the film failed to put massive numbers at the box office, but it performed decently. After releasing on OTT the movie is getting extraordinary response and the inside reports suggest that the plans have started to do the remake of the film in Telugu. An official confirmation on this expected very soon.
Akshay Kumar released two films during the weekend, one of which was Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue, in which he portrayed real-life hero Jaswant Singh Gill who saved the lives of 65 miners in 1989. Other one being the OTT release of his last film OMG 2, which had him and Pankaj Tripathi in the lead. In the film, the importance of sex education in schools was discussed. The Censor Board had troubled the film’s team during the theatrical release as they asked for 27 cuts and gave it an A certificate.
The makers of OMG 2 were optimistic about releasing the uncensored version of the film on the OTT. But sadly, their hopes crashed. Confirming the news, in a recent interview Akshay said, “I will be showing the censored version. Unfortunately, the children couldn’t watch the film due to the A certification… Also, please make sure children watch the film.”
In OMG 2, the focus is on sex education among young people, with a focus on highlighting the prevalent misinformation. In OMG 2, Akshay Kumar plays a messenger of Lord Shiva, while Pankaj Tripathi plays a devotee of Lord Shiva named Kanti Sharan Mudgal, and Yami Gautam plays a lawyer role. On August 11, OMG 2 was released in theaters and received positive feedback from critics, performing well at the box office. Now let’s wait and watch how it will be the response to the film’s remake in Telugu.
