Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 is getting released in theaters on 5th December, which was the original date of Prabhas’s The Raja Saab, which is now arriving on Sankranthi. Both films’ first singles have faced mixed reactions.
For every film, the first single usually carries the biggest buzz, and that is why teams always pick the best song to release as the first single. In Thaman’s latest films, the choice of first singles fails to feature the best songs, whether because of the director’s mistake or Thaman’s. The same thing happened with Akhanda 2 and The Raja Saab.
If Hara Hara from the sequel of Akhanda had been released as the first single, the buzz would have been much bigger by now. Similarly, for The Raja Saab, Rebel Saab may not be the strongest choice for a first single, and the album is likely to have better tracks.
Regardless of intent, both films have stumbled on launching the first song perfectly.
