Akhanda 2 Overseas Rights Sold for Record Price

Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu’s upcoming film Akhanda 2 is creating a strong buzz in all territories, including overseas, where both the actor and director have traditionally had limited reach due to their focus on high-energy mass entertainers. However, Akhanda changed that perception by blending commercial elements with spiritual/divine themes, which connected well with a wider audience.

Now, Akhanda 2 is continuing that momentum. The film’s overseas theatrical rights have reportedly been sold for ₹15 crore, a record for both Balakrishna and Boyapati. To break even, the film needs to collect around $3.75 million from international markets. The overseas rights have been acquired by Moksha MoviesSree Vaishnavi Entertainments, and Cinegalaxy.

This is the highest overseas business ever for a Balakrishna or Boyapati film, and similar massive deals have been closed in other regions as well. Distributors believe Akhanda 2 could elevate both the actor and director to a new level of pan-Indian popularity.

Buyers are also hopeful that the Hindi version of the film will contribute significantly to the overall overseas revenue.

On the promotions front, the team is gearing up for an aggressive campaign starting this week. The first single, titled “The Thaandavam,” is scheduled to be released on November 14, kicking off the musical promotions in a grand way.
