Although Akhanda 2 was initially announced for a September 25, 2025 release, the recent confirmation of OG occupying that date makes a postponement almost certain. This opens up December or Sankranthi as the most viable alternatives for the Balakrishna-starrer. Given the franchise’s popularity and mass appeal, a Sankranthi release could amplify its reach significantly. On the other hand, The Raja Saab still has portions of song shoots and heavy CG work pending, making an immediate release unrealistic.
However, Sankranthi offers the ideal timeframe for the makers to wrap up post-production efficiently while also benefiting from the extended holiday period. Interestingly, both films are gearing up to launch their teasers within the next two weeks. Their promotional strategies could give strong hints about which project will lock the coveted Sankranthi slot.
