Ajith, wake up! You’re out of the race now

Ajith's Valimai all set for Pongal 2022

At one time both Ajith and Vijay’s market was pretty similar and the two Kollywood stars were in direct competition with each other. However, over the years, Vijay with his superior selection of his films and directors has gone miles ahead of Ajith. Vijay, with his own brand despite mixed reviews scores 300Cr films, and now with Leo, he will be entering 500Cr and even 600Cr clubs. Vijay’s films are doing better business than Ajith’s films. Even the recent clash of Thunivu and Varisu is a great example. In all areas, Vijay triumphed over Ajith’s Thunivu. With Leo, he has gone miles ahead of Ajith.

Coming to other Kollywood stars, Rajinikanth made a massive comeback with Jailer. Kamal Hasan has also made a massive comeback with Vikram and there’s massive hype for Indian 2. Suriya is setting very good combinations and he is looking to make a giant splash with Kanguva that has got the trade circles excited.

Amidst all this, Ajith seems to be left behind in this race. From being a contender for the number one star tag, he is completely out of it and now it’s between Rajinikanth vs Vijay, and only Kamal Hassan comes next in terms of business at the moment. Ajith is still doing very normal films without any crazy combinations which is putting him in a minimal market and not helping his stardom.

In addition to this, Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, and Suriya are also strong in other language markets. Compared to this, Ajith is very weak in Kerala, Telugu states and even in overseas and Karnataka compared to others. He is a massive star only in Tamil Nadu. In order to make a strong comeback and mark his brand, he should set crazy combinations at the earliest.
