Om Raut’s directorial, Adipurush, has come under heavy criticism since it was released yesterday. The film has created box office records on its first day, but there is still a large section of the audience that has criticized the scenes, character sketches and some dialogues which seemed to be inappropriate for the genre. The film’s writer, Manoj Muntashir, surprised everyone by saying that Adipurush is not Ramayan but they have made the film by getting inspired by it.
The writer had defended the dialogues which were trolled by the netizens, only to be further trolled. Talking about the most trolled scene where Lord Hanuman says ‘jalegi bhi tere baap ki’, Muntashir said, “Ours is an oral tradition. We all know Ramayana like that. I come from a small village where grandmothers used to tell these stories in this style, using this language. I am not the first one to write this dialogue.”
Manoj Muntashir stated that the team of Adipurush is clear from the start that they have made Ramayan, but they got heavily inspired by the epic. He further said that they have not made Sampoorn Ramayan and they just took a part of Yuddha Kaand (war sequence) from it.
Adipurush, the much awaited mythological drama, was released in theaters on Friday. It stars Prabhas as Raghav, Kriti Sanon as Janaki and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh.
The multilingual film, produced by T-Series, released across the nation in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil. The audience pointed out the oversimplified language used by the characters, especially Lord Hanuman played by Devdatta Nage.
