3-Hour Movies Facing Backlash

Both the movies were censored with 195 minutes, but later were trimmed to 183 minutes. Sekhar Kammula's Kuberaa and Manchu Vishnu's Kannappa face backlash for their 3-hour runtime. The public felt that there was drag in between for Kammula's film, and it could have been trimmed by 10-15 minutes.

When the runtime goes beyond 3 hours, it becomes very risky for films, and the success rate of such films is low, as audiences always want an engaging film throughout.

Even for Kannappa, the same response came as many felt that the first half of the film and the initial 2nd half were very lengthy and dragged. The unanimous reaction to the film was that it could have had a better impact with a 140–150-minute runtime.
